Lobby Boy is open for dinner with a new winter menu

Lobby Boy is a well known and popular breakfast, lunch and brunch spot and the local favourite is now serving up a mouthwatering dinner menu. A North Sydney cafe from the team behind The Grounds of Alexandria, Lobby Boy is a hidden gem located in a glass-walled corner in the Northpoint building right in the corner of Pacific highway and Miller Street. It’s the perfect place to escape the busy city and enjoying a well balanced menu from the comfort of the velvety soft armchairs (we could sit here forever).

The Space

The restaurant has been decked out with dark timber flooring, dusty pink velvet chairs and elegant marble tables which makes it easy for the space to transfer from cafe to restaurant depending on the time of the day. The space benefits from high ceilings which adds an open and airy feel. The large window walls adds a tonne of natural light and it’s quite interesting to see one of the busiest intersections in North Sydney from above. The staff is friendly and the table for two fits just about all the plates if you order more than a couple of dishes.

The Food

Available on Thursdays and Fridays, Lobby Boy showcases locally sourced produce through a Modern Australian-Italian fusion menu guided by the seasons. The new winter menu includes dishes such as Zucchini flowers with ricotta truffle mousse, pan-seared duck breast, savoy cabbage, rhubarb jam, crema fresca, fried onion and strawberry jus, and a brussels sprout salad with kale, grape tomatoes, pine nuts and sultanas, with the hero dish definitely being an in-house15-20 day aged wagyu beef.

We especially enjoyed the tuna crudo and the lamb ragu fettuccine which were both delicious. The desserts were pretty hard to overlook on the menu and both the Torta ala cape (a chocolate crumble with vanilla mouse) and the Strawberry pavlova, which is served with plenty of lemon mascarpone, were fantastic.

The Lobby Boy is the perfect spot for a mid-week dinner date.

Diners can choose between a 4-course menu for $79pp with a complimentary glass of wine or an A la Carte option.e
