Davaar House, Adelaide’s First Wellbeing Centre is a light-filled sanctuary for body and mind

Wellness isn’t going anywhere, in fact, there are several new wellness trends to look out for in 2024. And, in an Australian first, Adelaide boasts a wellness hub offering a fully serviced experience combining therapists with state-of-the-art and highly sought-after body nurturing and rejuvenation equipment and treatments.

An infrared Pilates capsule that lets clients work out in private when it suits them best is one of two groundbreaking, treatments available exclusively in Adelaide at Davaar House– a landmark, new health hub in the city with a holistic approach to wellbeing that nurtures the body, mind, and soul.

The vision of owner Fiona Fiorinotto, Davaar House, opened with a soft in August after she and husband/co-founder Oscar, transformed an elegant but neglected 19th-century mansion on the corner of South Terrace and Hutt Street – into a light-filled sanctuary for self-discovery and renewal.

Guided by an ethos to inform as much as rejuvenate, Davaar House defines itself through a carefully curated offering of industry-leading wellness treatments, delivered with compassion by expertly qualified practitioners who genuinely love what they do.

Too often, wellness is associated with physical appearance, but it is so much more; it is a personal journey that encompasses all aspects of our wellbeing, including our mental health – Fiona Fiorinotto, Owner of Davaar House

As a qualified remedial masseuse, beauty therapist, and former salon owner, Fiona Fiorinotto said: “We are about beauty beneath the skin and getting to the source of concerns, to deliver effective solutions through holistic therapeutic techniques.”

Ms Fiorinotto said: “Too often, wellness is associated with physical appearance, but it is so much more; it is a personal journey that encompasses all aspects of our wellbeing, including our mental health.

The other Adelaide-exclusive offering, and the first of its kind in Australia, is an extension of mat and Reformer Pilates.

Ms Fiorinotto said: “Our ActivBed Pilates Pod is a unique capsule that clients enter and take a private class that blends traditional mat Yoga and Pilates and is delivered on a screen inside.”

Built-in infrared and heat technology provides the ideal environment to stretch, strengthen, and sculpt the body – and the pod can be booked anytime during opening hours.

Other cutting-edge offerings include a full-body Red Light Therapy Pod and the HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) Oxygen Chamber, or AirPod.

Ms Fiorinotto said: “Red Light Therapy delivers concentrated wavelengths of natural light to skin cells to stimulate collagen production, promote skin elasticity, improve recovery from injury, reduce inflammation, and promote brain health.

“The AirPod helps block the action of harmful bacteria in the body and strengthens the immune system while increasing oxygen concentration in the body’s tissues. It can improve sleep, fight jet lag, boost energy, and increase blood flow and circulation.”

Whether accessed individually or within thoughtfully tailored spa packages, every treatment at Davaar House has self-care at its heart.
