Is mindful drinking the new trend? There’s been a cultural shift from the days of binge drinking.

Mindful drinking is the new trend. The wellness wave that has swept across the globe over the last couple of years doesn’t seem to stop any time soon. In fact, it seems like more and more of us look to inject more wellness into our daily lives including adopting mindful drinking.

So what exactly is mindful drinking? According to Carissa Walford, an actress, TV presenter and producer, who attended the Wellness Weekend in Sydney last month, it comes down to enjoying the good things in life in moderation (including alcoholic drinks). Believing that having fun and enjoying life’s pleasures is about balance, Carissa said, “I’ve never been a huge drinker, and I don’t like to over-indulge. It can be hard to find a drink that allows you to have a good time when out with friends while still being mindful of what you’re drinking, so I really enjoy St-Germain cocktails. They’re my favourite drinks for summer.”

Wellness is a booming industry, and people tend to be making healthier choices including mindful drinking. Finding balance and turning to low alcohol options are trends that are on the rise as people realise working out and healthy eating only go so far if alcohol is being indulged in every evening. Mindful drinkers are wanting drinks that taste beautiful and have a depth of flavour, and are taking a greater interest in the ingredients and provenance of what they’re drinking. With the emphasis much more on quality and flavour, the focus is on responsibly enjoying drinks, which reflects St-Germain’s ethos of slowing down and enjoying the pleasures in life.

A healthy cocktail recipe to try

Reflective of this movement, Camille Vidal, the founder of La Maison Wellness and the host of the St-Germain Wellness Weekend, created cocktails with gut health in mind. Using St-Germain, which is low in alcohol and all-natural, the refreshing Sage Body & Mind cocktail is low in alcohol and tastes great.

“Mindful drinking is an international movement and living well doesn’t mean cutting things out of your life, but instead growing all the good things – like enjoying a good quality drink in moderation.”  Camille Vidal, the founder of La Maison Wellness
