Leaving your furry friends behind, be it a staycation or abroad, may seem like the only option – but this is definitely far from the truth! .  We have selected our top picks of luxury pet-friendly accommodation ahead of National dog day on  26th August, making now the perfect time to plan a holiday with your pooch…

Gran Hotel Inglés Madrid

A luxury hotel with a glamorous 1920s art-deco vibe right in the middle of Madrid’s famous bohemian neighbourhood – Barrio de las Letras offers stylish rooms, excellent food and drinks and an impressive lobby kitted out with comfortable leather sofas which oozes history and charm transporting you to another era.

Four legged friends are very welcome at Dao, and will be given the utmost attention and treats throughout their stay. All guests travelling with pets pay a £70 pet policy, which covers cleaning services at the end of their stay. In addition, guests can upgrade to Dao’s ‘Pet Friendly’ journey for just £29, which includes a comfy pet bed or tent to sleep in, food and water bowls, waste bag dispenser and toys to play with. Owners will receive a pet sitting discount voucher from Paws Galore, who provide the love and care your pet requires so that you can make the most of your time in London.

ME London

Situated in the heart of London, close to some of the most popular attractions including Theatreland, Covent Garden and Somerset House, ME London welcomes guests and their small-size furry friends all year around. Offering them everything they need to make sure they have a wonderful stay whilst enjoying the vibrant city, guests can request a pet service for their dog, or even cat (up to 15kg). ME London will provide a pet bed, food bowls, as well as some amenities (a toy and some treats). Those guests wishing to travel with their cat will have to bring their own litter box. An additional supplement of £50 is charged per pet per night. For any other pet requests (e.g. rabbits) the hotel would review it case by case, depending on the request.
