5 Great Luxury Locations to Stay in the Caribbean Netherlands

The islands in the Caribbean Sea are a haven for tourists looking for a mix of relaxation and lively parties. However, nestled among the tourist-filled islands are the islands of Bonaire, Saba, and Sint Eustatius for wanderlusters looking for a bit more seclusion while enjoying the warm weather and sparkling turquoise waters. Known as the Caribbean Netherlands, these municipalities are becoming more popular destinations as they offer much quieter experiences, while still providing luxury accommodations.

So, without further ado, here are a few luxury places to stay in the Caribbean Netherlands.

Plaza Beach and Dive Resort

Bonaire is one of Travel + Leisure Readers’ favorite islands in the region and is known for its diving and snorkeling spots with the surrounding waters belonging to the Bonaire National Marine Park.

There’s tons on offer at this resort, with its extensive breakfast menu and lunch buffets, culinary dinner, and unlimited drinks. Choose one of the resort’s diving packages to enjoy access to first-class dive sites with pristine reefs and diverse species of fish, or learn how to dive with the resort’s PADI 5-star diving school Toucan Diving.

Harbour Village Beach Club

Set in a secluded, four-acre tropical paradise, the Harbour Village was awarded Bonaire’s leading hotel. This resort is exclusive – it is the island’s only private beach inside the gated grounds. The Harbour Village offers villas with multiple bedrooms, dining facilities, fully equipped kitchens, and private patios. The resort offers complimentary diving concierge service, as well as other above-water activities such as kayaking and paddleboarding.

If you are cruising along the Caribbean sea on your own yacht, the Bonaire marina provides the perfect place to dock with 60 slips for yachts of up to 150 feet, as well as one dock for 240-foot mega-yachts.

Villa Aventura

For those looking for longer-term vacations, you can look into renting Bonaire luxury apartments or villas.  These rentals offer you the utmost privacy as you have sole access to the property, such as the Villa Aventura. This is an exclusive villa with a private pool in an upscale residential area. The villa has enough space for up to seventeen guests with its nine bedrooms and relaxing outdoor living areas.

Renting a property in its entirety does not mean you have to do everything yourself. You can add things such as arranging transportation, booking water excursions, or having a private chef at your service to your packages.

Golden Rock Dive and Nature Resort

The Golden Rock Dive and Nature Resort is the first upscale boutique resort in Sint Eustatius. This resort has a 40-acre garden set against the majestic backdrop of the dormant volcano called The Quill. Aside from providing breathtaking scenery, The Quill is also a major hiking attraction for anyone who wants to go hiking while on holiday in the Caribbean.

The resort also has the largest man-made lagoon in the Caribbean. Grab your gear and dive to the bottom of the lagoon to see an underwater school bus which serves as the lagoon’s artificial reef. You can also learn more about the resort’s eco-conscious lifestyle, from their use of solar panels that power the resort to their use of filters to convert saltwater to drinking water or dirty water to irrigation water for their gardens.
