At Aire de Sevilla Arabic Baths and Hammam guests can enjoy a spa-like experience relaxing their body, spirit and mind.

In Andalusia, baths were originally built under Islamic tradition as they believed water to symbolise purity, and during ancient Moorish times, these types of baths were key for social and business purposes.

Fast-forward around 1000 years and you can still enjoy a similar experience in the beautiful Aire de Sevilla Arabic Baths and Hammam. Providing a sanctuary to relax and unwind in the beautiful city of Sevilla, the traditional hammam is where you can experience the ultimate pampering experience in a historic, luxurious and tranquil setting.

This Arabic bath is located on Calle Aire, in the historic barrio Santa Cruz neighbourhood right in the middle of the historical centre of the city. Situated in a 1200 square meter palace built in the 16th century by the Governor of the Indies on the site of an ancient bath, these Baños Árabes connect with past civilisations and the restorations focus on the mudéjar style influenced by 12th to 16th-century Moorish artistry.

Entering the majestic palace-building all voices are hushed to a whisper in order to maintain the ambience of total tranquillity. Walking up the grand stairs and large hallways to the changing rooms the historic building provides a total magical setting.

The hammam with its red-hued walls provides a warm atmosphere and glowing candle lights, the incenses of natural oils from the massage rooms and the soothing background music adds to the ambience. Split over three floors the hammam offers the traditional hot and cold pools which have great health benefits when alternated as well as a saltwater pool, jacuzzi-style pool and a floor dedicated for full-body massages.

A classic visit includes an hour and a half Thermal Bath and Aromatherapy session within different spaces centred around a roman-tiled Relaxation room where you can sip hot and cool herbal teas and water between baths.

The session begins in the thermal baths room. There are three pools; the warm bath (36℃) stabilising your body temperature, the hot bath (40℃) producing a feeling of calm, and the cold bath (16℃) with dripping ice to revitalise and tone the skin. Next, you can make your way to the hammam steam room to experience cleansing essential oils, followed by a visit to the Thousand Jets pool. Finally, a level lower you’ll find the saltwater pool where you can experience weightlessness and float into ultimate relaxation.

There is also a wine bath which is poured into an ancient bathtub in stone designed for two people. Here you will have your body soaked in wine and its beneficial antioxidants whilst enjoying a glass of wine followed by a head massage.

Along with the Thermal Bath and Aromatherapy session, guests can also choose additional massage packages ranging from 15 minutes to a full hour, or other favourites including the Water Ritual underwater massage or the Four Hands Ritual relaxation massage.

The 30-minute full-body massage is the perfect way to end the session leaving your body completely pampered and relaxed.

What to bring: A bathing suit and nothing else – Aire de Sevilla provides water shoes and towels, and their dressing rooms are equipped with lockers, shampoo, shower gel and hairdryers. If you do forget your bathing suit, complementary suits are available.
