19 Anticipated Luxury Hotel Openings of 2023

New year, new hotels. As we head into 2023, we’ve rounded up some of the exciting hotel openings of 2023. These destination properties feature ultra-luxurious accommodations and intuitive personal service. From a 17th-century palatial estate in the foothills of Mallorca’s Tramuntana Mountains to a heritage resort replete with Arabesque art and design on the Red Sea, each of these new launches inspire adventure and indulge a sense of exploration with distinctive on- and off-property experiences rooted in local culture.

The BoTree, London, UK

One of London’s hottest new openings with conscious luxury at its heart, The BoTree is located at the cross-section of Marylebone and Mayfair – two of the city’s most central neighbourhoods and a lively destination for visitors to experience. Interiors will reflect the property’s location on Marylebone Lane, and includes colourful, textured fabrics by award-winning designer, Concrete. In addition to 199 guestrooms, including 29 suites, the new build will offer dedicated hosts on each floor and open plan rooms with sliding panel doors for guests to customise spaces – from a single guestroom to an entire wing of the hotel. Other highlights include a rooftop restaurant and bar with city views, a private screening room, and a live music and entertainment venue with a capacity for 450 guests.

Son Net Mallorca, Spain – launching Spring 2023 

Set in the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the luxury boutique retreat in a 17th century private estate, will reopen its doors following a large-scale refurbishment. Guests will enjoy stays in 31 guestrooms and suites that beautifully showcase original architectural features such as rustic wooden beams, stone floors, and antique fireplaces, in addition to an extensive curated private art collection, an outdoor pool, and a luxurious onsite spa. Guests can enjoy the surrounding nature, which includes vineyards and mature forests, with tailored experiences and excursions organised by the hotel team.

Le Grand Mazarin, Paris – launching Q1 2023

Maisons Pariente has chosen the heart of the Marais for its new 5-star address: Le Grand Mazarin. Located at the corner of rue des Archives and rue de la Verrerie, near the Hôtel de Ville, the first urban hotel of the collection embodies the cosmopolitan eclecticism emblematic of the Marais. With 61 uniquely decorated rooms and suites, a spectacular restaurant and bar, and a swimming pool, Maisons Pariente has created a festive, unexpected and privileged experience that’s an ode to the City of Light. Galeria Plaza MonterreyNuevo León, Mexico  launching January 2023 

A soaring tower in the heart of downtown Monterrey’s new financial district, Galeria Plaza Monterrey is the fifth addition to the Hoteles Galeria Plaza brand and the newest skyline addition to the state of Nuevo León’s business capital. Boasting panoramic views of the emblematic Cerro de la Silla mountain –a national monument – the hotel blends avant-garde, minimalist design with comfort and technology across 196 deluxe rooms, six lofts, and two master suites. Additional highlights include a pool and la ounge, terraca e with firepit, full-service spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, and two restaurants offering local and international cuisine under the direction of Executive Chef Guy Santoro.

The Elser Hotel & Residences Florida, United States – launching Q1 2023 

The new 49-story luxury tower designed by Sieger Suarez Architects in downtown Miami will fully open in early 2023. Named after the Elser Pier, a turn-of-the-century shoreline hotspot, the hotel offers 646 guestrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offering unobstructed views of Biscayne Bay and a pool with lounges and a 16-foot LED screen wall. 

Raffles London at The OWO, UK – launching Spring 2023

Launching this spring, the historic Old War Office building will be transformed into Raffles London at The OWO, creating a new hospitality destination in the heart of Whitehall. Featuring 120 rooms and suites, 85 residences, nine restaurants and three bars, including three restaurants from Michelin-starred Mauro Colagreco and an extensive spa & health club in partnership with Guerlain and leading movement experts PILLAR, this once-in-a-lifetime restoration will open this storied building to Londoners and international guests for the first time in its 100-year history.

Pendry Newport Beach California, United States – launching Summer 2023

The latest addition to Pendry Hotels & Resorts, this exciting new resort will extend 295 guestrooms, including 82 suites, with harbour and bay views – just steps from Fashion Island, Orange County’s premier shopping destination. The hotel will wow guests with three dining destinations, Spa Pendry, an outdoor pool with sundeck, and 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space and is one of the hottest hotel openings of 2023.

El Fuerte Marbella Marbella, Spain – launching May 2023

Following more than a year of renovations, the Fuerte Group Hotels flagship on Spain’s Costa del Sol will reopen its doors as a 5-star hotel, presenting 266 rooms with interiors designed by the award-winning Jaime Beriestain. The reimagined hotel will launch with a brand-new destination spa and a seafood-focused restaurant that draws inspiration from the town’s local fishing culture.

Dao by Dorsett Hornsey Town Hall, London – launching Spring 2023

 In Spring 2023, the Dao By Dorsett brand is set to expand into North London with the opening of Dao by Dorsett Hornsey Town Hall. Following a significant investment and meticulous restoration project, the aparthotel will be housed in the fully restored Grade II* listed building that is steeped in history, with a rich heritage stretching back almost 80 years. The building will feature 68 high-quality, fully serviced apartments and suites, impressive co-working spaces, restaurants and cafes, a panoramic rooftop bar, an Arts Centre for events and a cinema. Dao Hornsey Town Hall will be the second Dao By Dorsett to open in London, following the launch of Dao West London in Summer 2022.

Nobu Hotel Marrakech, Marrakech, Morocco – launching Q1 2023

Opening in January of 2023, Nobu Hotel Marrakech will be the lifestyle brand’s first venture into Africa and one of the hottest hotel openings of 2023. Located in the “Golden Triangle” in the Hivernage district, the 71-suite hotel was designed by French architect Jacques Garcia and reimagined by Mahmoud Slimane. The interiors will feature a mix of Baroque and Asian-inspired style, with nods from Nobu’s signature Japanese-inspired minimalist aesthetic. The hotel will have a Nobu Restaurant and Bar, a world-class spa, and a rooftop garden centered around a circular pool that boasts panoramic city views.

Ikos Odisia, Corfu – launching May 2023

Ikos Resorts is launching the sixth addition to its award-winning luxury all-inclusive portfolio, with the opening of Ikos Odisia in Corfu on 19 May 2023. With 395 bedrooms and an iconic location, protected in a secluded bay across from globally awarded Ikos Dassia, the new resort is elevated for dramatic views and landscaped vistas across the Ionian Sea. Guests at the new Ikos Odisia can look forward to the all-inclusive Infinite Lifestyle concept, 10 heated outdoor and indoor pools, menus created by Michelin-star chefs, signature spa experiences by Anne Semonin Paris and 24-hour room service.

 

Bulgari Hotel Rome Rome, Italy – launching Q2/Q3 2023

The new Roman hotel will be the Italian group’s flagship location, strategically located in the central Piazza Augusto Imperatore, in the very heart of the Campo Marzio neighbourhood. Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel took on both the architectural project and the interior design of the hotel, seamlessly blending elements of the original 1930s modernist building with classic Roman architecture and materials – such as travertine marble and red brick. A rotating collection of both modern and antique art will draw on the city’s legacy as one of the world’s most renowned cities and its position as an enduring cradle of arts and culture. The hotel will count over 100 rooms, most of them suites, as well as the prestigious Il Ristorante curated by Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito and The Bulgari Bar.

Life House  Palm Springs, California launching April 2023

This retro 66-key property built in 1965 will be the first West Coast outpost of the LifeHouse brand. Inspired by the roots of the building, the concept will celebrate mid-century modernism in a delightfully unexpected way – infusing Japanese minimalism and Desert Botanical muses. The hotel will include an expansive exterior Pool Bar & Cabanas, an interior Living Room, and guest room suites with private terraces overlooking the mountains.

Bulgari Hotel Tokyo Tokyo, Japan launching Spring 2023

Bulgari Hotel Tokyo will occupy the top seven floors of a 240m tall ultra-skyscraper in the city’s Yaesu neighbourhood – within walking distance of some of the city’s best attractions, including Imperial Palace and the vibrant shopping areas of both Nihombashi and Ginza. The hotel will offer 98 guest rooms in a variety of configurations, including multiple luxury suites and an extraordinary Bvlgari Suite with views over the city from the 45th floor. Bulgari Hotels’ iconic features such as Il Bar, Il Ristorante, the fireplace Lounge, and a 1,500sqm Bulgari Spa, complete with a 25m indoor pool will add a further luxurious touch to the guest experience.

Ikos Porto Petro, Mallorca – launching Summer 2023

Ikos Resorts is delighted to announce the seventh addition to its award-winning luxury all-inclusive portfolio and the second in Spain, with the opening of Ikos Porto Petro on the  Spanish island of Mallorca in 2023. The five-star resort aims to offer the best luxury all-inclusive experience in the area and will open with 319 elegantly designed rooms and suites with terraces, private pools, and incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea. Guests will be spoilt for choice with five indoor and outdoor heated pools, including separate children’s and baby pools, as well as the pristine beauty of secluded coves and the surrounding natural environment.

Maroma, A Belmond Hotel Riviera Maya, Mexico – reopening May 2023

Nestled between 200 acres of Mexico’s tropical jungle and white sand beaches overlooking the Caribbean waters of the Yucatan Peninsula, Maroma Resort & Spa will reopen on May 25, 2023 following an extensive renovation and redesign by Tara Bernerd and her team. The resort will honour Mexican tradition throughout its 72 rooms, suites and villas by featuring local art and authentic craftsmanship. The buildings’ architecture will be aligned with the Sacred Geometry of Mayan masons, and the newly renovated spa will feature ancient healing rituals inspired by nature.

Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo Panama Panama City, Panama – launching January 2023

Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo Panamawill open its doors to guests in January 2023 and is one of the hottest hotel openings of 2023. This gorgeous hotel, located on a waterfront enclave that is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former location of the Club Union Panama, will combine local culture and unparalleled French hospitality.

Ruby Zoe, London – launching Summer 2023

The second Ruby Group hotel to open in the UK, Ruby Zoe will welcome guests from summer 2023. Located in Notting Hill Gate, the hotel will be within walking distance to Kensington Palace, Hyde Park and the famous Portobello Market, known for its vintage clothes, antiques and delicious street food. Following Ruby Group’s ‘Lean Luxury’ philosophy, the stylish 173-bedroom hotel will focus on the essential things that really matter at an affordable price.

Serry Beach Resort Hurghada, Egypt – launching January 2023

An Egyptian-Arabian heritage resort on the shores of the Red Sea is one of the hottest hotel openings of 2023, the property includes 453 guestrooms, a range of dining options, an outdoor horizon pool, Aqua Park offering freshwater wave pools and water slides, a cabaret speakeasy nightclub, a mezze lounge, a buzzing food hall with a souk-like atmosphere.
