The Bodrum EDITION regonised by Conde Nast Traveller’s 2021 Reader’s Choice Award

Condé Nast Traveler has announced the results of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards with The Bodrum EDITION recognised as one of the best hotels in Europe, ranking 4th across the continent.

The Bodrum EDITION is located in Tilkicik bay at the western point of the Bodrum peninsula, and minutes from Bodrum Castle and Bodrum Amphitheatre. Banyan Tree Launches ‘Wellbeing Sanctuary’ in Koh Samui & Krabi

The Banyan Tree Group has rolled out a new healthy living concept at its properties around the world, including Banyan Tree Samui and Banyan Tree Krabi in southern Thailand, which have set aside a selection of pool villas and suites dedicated to holistic and wellbeing pursuits.

The “Wellbeing Sanctuary” initiative was launched on October 1st at both resorts, and provides guests with an opportunity to combine a leisure vacation with a daily program designed to enrich mind, body and soul — from meditation to Thai boxing, from massage and hydrotherapy to nature trails and sailing lessons. The holistic itineraries are based on Banyan Tree’s “8 Pillars” principle (Dietary Awareness; Physical Vitality; Cultivate the Mind; Sleep & Rest; Harmony with Nature; Learning & Development; Bonding & Connection; and Sustained Practices).

The Langham Sydney launches festive season dining offers

To celebrate the festive season, The Langham, Sydney welcomes guests back with an array of dining offerings.

Kitchen on Kent will serve up a luxurious Festive Luxury Buffet (December 1st through to December 23rd. Prices start from $108 per person), Festive Afternoon Tea (1st December – 5th January. Prices start from $108 per person including a special festive cocktail). Guest can also enjoy Christmas Eve Dining  (Dec 24th for lunch and dinner sittings. Prices start from $248 per person including a beverage package) and Christmas Day Dining (Dec 25th for lunch and dinner sittings. Prices start from $248 – $398 per person including a beverage package).

El Vicenç de la Mar in Mallorca to open in April 2022

One of the hottest hotel news October is El Vicenç de la Mar – a new hotel,  part of the Mallorca Ç Collection who currently own El Llorenç Parc de la Mar in Palma de Mallorca (Opened in 2019).

The design hotel  is located on a beautiful bay on the northern coastline of the island just 7 km from Pollença on the west side of Cap Formentor. Sitting on a crystal-clear cove, the hotel will offer 35 guest rooms including four suites and one Penthouse suite, some with their own private terraces, a private jacuzzi or their own private swimming pool. Major features will include a breathtaking rooftop terrace with a swimming pool, cocktail bar and restaurant where guests can enjoy the sweeping views across Cala Sant Vicenc and the Sierra Tramuntana Mountains, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Turing Locke Opens In Cambridge, UK

Lifestyle aparthotel brand Locke has opened its ninth property, Turing Locke, located in the heart of Cambridge’s sustainable new development, Eddington, in addition to four locations in London, Dublin and Munich so far this year.

Named after the revolutionary computer scientist Alan Turing, Turing Locke comprises 180 stylish apartments (including one- and two-bedroom apartments, up to 74sqm), which each feature Locke’s signature fully fitted kitchens, living and dining space – ideal for extended stay guests. The aparthotel also includes a restaurant, cocktail bar, coffee shop, retail space, co-working area, gym, meeting and events space for up to 150 guests, along with a seasonal rooftop terrace and central landscaped courtyard.

Room rates at Turing Locke start from £120 per night. Discounted rates are also available for mid- to long-stay guests.

Lola Rouge opens at Naumi Studio Hotel Wellington, New Zealand

Hotel news October includes Naumi Hotels which opens the much-anticipated new restaurant, Lola Rouge, at Naumi Studio Hotel Wellington, New Zealand this month, with a tantalising menu and bold interiors that pack a punch.

The dramatic dining room encompasses relaxed style, with dark wooden flooring and bare brick walls lit with red. Velvet covered booths soften the feel, decorated with perching brass waterbirds. Round pastel pink hued tables sit like sweet bon bons in the centre, below glowing orb lanterns.

The menu consists of modern pan-Asian dishes and reads like a luxury travel food guide through Asia. A surprise and delight is the full page of plant-based, vegan dishes including “Mori-nu Tofu with sweet sesame glaze, crispy shallot and Chui Chow”, and “Yakimeshi Japanese Fried Rice”. Highlight seafood and meat dishes include “Softshell Crab atop Malaysian Slaw and Lotus Root”, the “Signature Tandoori Tasting Plate” and a delectable “King Tiger Prawn Curry”. To finish, sweets include “Dulce de Leche Kulfi” and “Gaja Halwa”. Guests can also enjoy an extensive selection of New Zealand and international wines.
