Researchers around the world documented a surge in sleep disorders since 2020 and according to Harvard Medical School, growing evidence suggests that poor sleep is linked to a higher risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and heart disease (source).

So there is no surprise 5-star hotels worldwide are investing in high-end services to increases their guests’ sleep. In time for World Sleep Day (18 March) we’ve rounded up some of the top sleep programs right now, offered by luxury hotels worldwide.

The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel, London

Recently, London’s Esteemed Therapist Malminder Gill (www.hypnosis-in-london.com) has joined forces with The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel to launch the innovative Sleep Concierge service. Guests at The Cadogan will be delighted to find a sleep-inducing meditative recording available in their rooms via the hotel app or TV, recorded by Malminder. The Sleep Concierge also includes a pillow menu with a choice of luxurious pillows to suit guests who might prefer to sleep on their back or side, the option of a weighted blanket, a bedtime tea developed by The Cadogan specifically for The Sleep Concierge, and a scented pillow mist to support the best possible night’s sleep. The Sleep Concierge is a complimentary experience for guests of The Cadogan, whilst an optional 1-2-1 with Malminder Gill starts from £300 and includes an initial phone call & follow-up call.

Mandarin Oriental, Geneva (Switzerland)

At the Mandarin Oriental, located only a few steps away from the idyllic Lake Geneva, guests have the opportunity to put their sleeping fate in the hands of professionals.

The hotel has partnered up with experts at CENAS, Switzerland’s first private medical sleeping clinic, to create a three-day programme. By studying your sleeping patterns, they help you to identify possible sleeping disorders and improve your resting habits.

Included in the package is an overnight polysomnographic test that will be analysed by the clinic’s experts. If that’s not enough for you, the spectacular Swiss landscape will do magic for your psychological well-being, even without the perfect night’s sleep.

Hästens’ Sleep SPA, Coimbra (Portugal)

Hästens’ Sleep SPA in Coimbra, Portugal is the first and only hotel in the world where you can fully enjoy the sleep spa experience. Hästens is probably the most prestigious bedding brand in the world,  and each bed is made entirely by hand and takes around 200 hours to produce.

The boutique sleep-hotel in Portugal features Hästens’s own €50,000 beds, which are designed to be the ultimate in comfort and make the price of a bedroom per night, around €500, sound almost cheap in comparison. The Sleep SPA in Coimbra also offers customised pillows, in linen or satin, to provide the best sleeping experience, and “Bed Talks” focused on getting you the perfect support for your neck and head.
