Best face mists for hydration and how you should use them.

If you’ve wondered too about the differences between micellar water, toner and face mist and when to use each, let’s clear it up.

Micellar water

Micellar water is basically a combination of oil and water that helps get makeup and impurities off your face. The tiny oil droplets called micelles are suspended into soft water and draw out dirt, oil and grime from the face, leaving it squeaky clean and hydrated. It is a cleansing product that removes makeup, cleanses the face and moisturises all at once, but its primary purpose is clearing out oil, stubborn makeup and dirt from the face. It wipes off every last bit of makeup. Use micellar water before anything else. It is the first step in your skincare routine. Pour some micellar water on a cotton pad and glide it over your face to clean it.

Toner

Toner is used after you’ve wiped your makeup off and cleansed your face with a face wash. It is water with skin-loving ingredients like glycerine, acids and antioxidants formulated in it. It works on maintaining the pH level of the skin, shrinking pores, removing dead skin cells and providing hydration. It also cleanses parts of the face that wipes and cleanser couldn’t clean. Lastly, it removes excess oil and leaves your skin smoother and plump. Wash your face with a face wash and then go ahead and use a toner. Toner helps close the pores and seal in moisture lost in the cleansing process. Also, it cleanses your skin thoroughly and leaves it glowing and healthy. Follow up with a serum.

Face Mists

Just like it sounds, a face mist is a skincare product that you spray on your face. There are lots of different types out there, and for the most part, they deliver an instant hit of hydration with ingredients like vitamins, extracts, and essential oils. Some have additional benefits like controlling excess oil, calming stressed skin, and offering anti-ageing properties. Whether your face is drier than usual because of cold winter weather or just naturally needs more moisture, a few spritzes will leave your skin hydrated and glowing.
