Bawah Reserve in Indonesia launches new wellbeing programmes for January 2020.

What better way to kickstart the New Year than with a reboot, reset and a clear body and mind?

The new wellness programmes at Bawah Reserve, one of Indonesia’s most exclusive, off-grid resorts and only accessible via private seaplane from Singapore, offers just that. The programmes which will launch in January 2020 include two restorative wellbeing programmes for guests – the Journey to Calm and Journey to Vitality.

Those in search of a transformative island getaway can book one of the new programmes for a minimum of three nights. During their personalised journey, each guest will learn and practise the six key pillars of wellbeing: physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, social and environmental. The two programmes incorporate the natural elements of Bawah’s six tropical islands, 13 beaches, lush forests, and three lagoons, paired with expert spa treatments, healthy organic meals, meditation and activities.

JOURNEY TO CALM

The Journey to Calm programme is designed to combat stress and help guests find their inner calm. This programme will enable participants to slow down, enjoy the gentle pace on the island and re-focus on life’s priorities. The wellness journey will include a life coaching session with a co-created action plan and a private tailored movement session, focusing on breathing and mindfulness. Guests will also take part in daily yoga and floating meditation, using weightlessness to release mental blocks. A garden-to-glass health tonic class, with hand-picked fruit and herbs from Bawah’s organic garden is also included, along with calming daily spa treatments from the resorts Aura Spa. These include the likes of ‘Lost Treasure’, a full body oil massage designed to heal from head to toe, using rare, thunder-struck wood to spread energising vibrations into the muscle and ‘Facial Yoga’, a jade stone facial that stimulates blood circulation, oxygenating and nourishing the tissue. During their stay, guests can further disconnect from the world by spending a day on one of Bawah’s secluded private islands, complete with snorkelling equipment and a delicious healthy picnic. Giant turtles, colourful coral and other spectacular marine life can be spotted in the reefs surrounding the resort which is a marine conservation area.

JOURNEY TO VITALITY

The Journey to Vitality acts as a reboot programme for guests looking to enhance their physical health and wellness. Guests will experience one-to-one training sessions to get the body moving and the mind energised. Experts at Bawah will provide a postural analysis to investigate movement patterns, preventing injuries and imbalances. Additionally, those on the Journey to Vitality will take part in paddleboard yoga for balance improvement and enjoy private cooking classes using ingredients picked from the reserve’s permaculture gardens. Daily treatments at the spa can include a ‘Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub’ and a ‘Fit Body’ treatment, an exotic, beauty ritual that originated centuries ago in the royal palaces of Central Java, using Lulur paste blended from finely ground rice powder, turmeric, sandalwood and jasmine oil. With the help of a dedicated Island Host, guests on this programme can stay active throughout their stay and take part in activities such as daily snorkelling, kayaking, sailing and boat trips as well as stargazing, bird watching and hiking a range of different nature trails through the surrounding jungle, all included in the rates.
