The city of Bath was built for pleasure and relaxation and this is where to eat, sleep and drink in the beautiful spa town of the West Country…

Stay at The Gainsborough Bath Spa

Set in the heart of Bath and owned by YTL Hotels, The Gainsborough Bath Spa is the Malaysian hotel group’s first UK property and fits their emphasis on properties celebrating both art and design, as well as culinary and wellness experiences. Housed in a former hospital turned art school the luxurious 87-room and 12-suite boutique hotel opened its doors in 2015 after an extensive refurbishment. The luxury hotel is centred around Spa Village Bath and, uniquely in the UK, has the exclusive privilege of having access to the natural thermal, mineral-rich waters. As a Leading Hotel of the World, Designed by New York-based Champalimaud Design, The Gainsborough Bath Spa is a modern interpretation of a classic design.

Thermae Bath Spa

Morning Spa visit at Thermae Bath Spa

Enjoy a steamy soak in the open-air rooftop pool in warm mineral-rich waters whilst admiring the beautiful city and green rolling hills.

No visit to Bath is complete without experiencing the spa town’s famous natural hot springs which are, as a matter of fact, the only natural hot springs in the UK. Since opening in 2006, the Thermae Bath Spa, Britain’s only natural thermal spa, has become a popular attraction for visitors wanting to enjoy the long tradition of ‘taking water’ just like the Romans and the well-to-do used to do during the Georgian era.

The Roman Baths are open every day, except 25 and 26 December. The opening times vary throughout the year and include special late evening entry during mid-June, July and August.

Lunch at The Ivy Bath Brasserie

The Ivy Bath Brasserie adds glamour to the West Country and certainly lives up to the hype and is very much like the London Mother Ship.

The Ivy Grills and Brasseries, for those not familiar with the brand, consists of a number of Grill and Brasseries across London and beyond. The Ivy Bath Brasserie opened its doors back in 2017 and similar to its sister restaurants the Bath Brasserie offers an all-day menu consisting of a mouthwatering selection of British dishes.

Located in Nat West Bank’s old building on Milsom Street in central Bath, the four storey restaurant is grand, elegant and sophisticated with a splash of art deco and fun. With high ceilings, modern art, colourful tiles and plush sofas and marble tables, The Ivy in Bath is ever so sophisticated yet with friendly staff and non-stuffy food the atmosphere is casual and chic.

Dinner at The Botanist Bath

The Botanist – the newly opened bar and restaurant in the Grade II listed Octagon building on Milsom Street in Bath is in full bloom. Located in the recently refurbished Grade II listed Octagon building on Milsom Street, The Botanist in Bath opened its doors in May this year making a blooming splash in the boozy culinary scene of Bath. The menu at The Botanist is fun, cheerful and affordable and great for sharing such as the popular lavender honey and sunflower loaf which is served on a rustic wooden board with whipped goat’s cheese butter. Try the scotch eggs and calamari with sweet chilli crème fraîche as a starter which are both excellent. The signature hanging kebabs (satay prawn and salt and pepper pork belly) are both amazing.
