Ovolo Nishi: Canberra’s luxury boutique hotel ticks all the boxes.

Ovolo Nishi calms your senses upon arrival. The boutique luxury hotel has nailed the concept of designing a cosy venue to unwind in. The unique vibe could be described as dreamy Australian, recycled bush shack elegance!  An iconic timber feature entrance made from recycled basketball courts is a popular photo location for newly married Canberrans. Mood lighting and warm earthy tones are the perfect contrast to a busy day. Monster Kitchen and Bar sprawls out across the hotel foyer, with charming little intimate clusters of seating. Pops of cool colours invite your eyes to take in the artistic glamour pieces delicately placed around the room.

Ovolo Nishi, Canberra’s Location

Only a 15-minute drive from the airport, in Canberra CBD near Commonwealth Park, Ovolo Nishi sits neatly above Canberra’s cultural centre. It is an ideal location for business or pleasure, with the new “bridge to bridge”  5 km walking track around Lake Burley Griffin at your doorstep.

A 24-hour gym with lakeside views and daily yoga classes are a welcomed inclusion. Especially as local cellar doors and fresh produce specialists boast their goodies for a market every Saturday at 3 pm in the building’s foyer. A hair salon is hidden behind reception with the city’s finest stylists at your fingertips.

Long hallways with more recycled timbers and dim lighting, lead you up to the hotels decadent 82 rooms. The spacious rooms are also fitted with artful splashes of colour whilst rendered concrete walls and neutral tones soak up the sun pouring in through the large windows. The smart TV and Ipad touch screen for In-room dining makes relaxing easy! The plush furnishings and complimentary life-size pillows on request promote peaceful sleep.

The minibar and a bag of snacks in the room are all-inclusive. Yes, that’s right, all-inclusive. Although be warned, the call down to the bar for complimentary happy hour drinks and snacks is far too persuasive!

More about Ovolo Nishi

Originally built by the Molonglo Group under the name Hotel Hotel, Ovolo Nishi has come into its own in Canberra’s art and culture district, NewActon, since being acquired by Ovolo Hotels in early 2018.During the original development more than 60 designers, artists, artisans, architects and curators were engaged to create a space that echoes stories of traditional Australian landscapes and culture. Elements of our country’s history are carefully integrated into the design of Ovolo Nishi, showcasing Australia’s manmade and natural history, while connecting Australia’s rugged natural past with modern luxury. The pineapple shaped façade of Ovolo Nishi cuts a distinct figure amongst the plethora of restaurants, shops and art galleries that surround it, welcoming locals and travellers alike with its award winning sustainability, design and sociability.
