Manhattan in all its glory has stiff competition from its buzzing brother – Brooklyn! Here is where to eat, sleep, shop and sip on a fair-trade cup of Joe.

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge

The beautiful eco-friendly and sustainable 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge offers airy 194-room hotel rising over the DUMBO waterfront with floor-to-ceiling windows capturing the city skyline view. Offering guests everything from fire barre (body sculpting) classes to a Tesla house car, the fully wind-powered 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge plays strongly to its ecologically conscious audience with a number of green initiatives, including a rainwater reclamation system that irrigates the riverfront, Brooklyn Bridge Park, giving it a prized LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.

Bamford Haybarn Spa

The Bamford Haybarn Spa is conveniently located at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. Indulge in a selection of holistic treatments, services and classes meant to nurture the mind, body and spirit, based on a heartfelt connection with nature. Choose from massage treatments, body services, facials and more. Recover from days spent exploring NYC with exclusive treatments formulated to restore natural nourishment to the body. Bamford founder and organic pioneer Carole Bamford is dedicated to sustainable and holistic living. Her passion for organic farming, natural clothing and well-considered beauty products has made her an influential champion of craftsmanship, traditional skills and natural living.

Champs Diner

Brooklyn’s favourite all-vegan diner serving up Americana comfort food with a no-fuss, laid-back attitude with a retro 70s vibe. Since opening its doors Champs has become a beloved brunch and late night spot for those in the know. Stop by to see what everyone’s talking about – you won’t leave hungry!

Dweebs, Bushwick

This Bushwick stop offers homemade almond milk, avocado toast, and delicious coffee from NYC roaster Spectrum Coffees, which sources its beans from Kenya and Costa Rica. Located on Dekalb Ave, the spacious and popular coffee shop has large shareable wooden tables and the walls are decorated with local art for sale. According to locals the seasonal Golden Milk is a must-try and is apparently tasting like ‘gingerbread milk’.

Package Free Shop

Lauren Singer, the woman behind a popular zero-waste blog, launched Package Free Shop in 2017. Since then this stunning open, minimalistic space in Williamsburg gathers sustainable house and beauty products and clothes from a variety of ethical brands in one place.
