The most incredible wine cellars you can dine in

Have you ever pictured yourself dining in a wine cellar surrounded by some of the world’s most exceptional, rare wines?

While people think of Napa Valley and Bordeaux for incredible wine experiences – these unexpected locations can turn this fantasy into a reality, from a luxury inn in Texas, to a castle in the southwest of Ireland. We’ve listed four of the world’s leading luxury hotels that offer such an experience.

Adare Manor | County Limerick, Ireland

An unlikely wine destination, Adare Manor in Northwest Ireland is home to an extensive collection of more than 700 different hand-selected wines including champagne, reds, white, fortified and sake from some of the world’s most legendary vineyards. For a one-of-a-kind experience, wine connoisseurs can dine in the original wine cellar located in the old manor house. The team of five sommelier’s are happy to pair guests’ meals with a selection of wines from producers like Roumier, Petrus, Rousseau and Cristal. Some of the oldest bottles in the cellar include Lynch Bages 1945, Colares 1934 and Chateau y’Quem 1961 – extremely rare and exclusive. Adare Manor has recently undergone one of the biggest renovations of its kind in Ireland, debuting a La Mer Spa, Tom Fazio-designed golf course and Michelin star-inspiring restaurants in November 2017.

The Stafford London | London, UK

This five-star luxury hotel tucked away in the heart of historic St. James is home to vaulted wine cellars, the perfect backdrop for a private dinner or event. Built in the 17th Century by Lord Francis Godolphin and used as an air raid shelter during WWII, these fascinating cellars house over 8,000 bottles of the World’s finest wines. Today, Master Sommelier, Gino Nardella, hosts wine tastings and wine-pairing dinners throughout the year. With over 40 years of experience at The Stafford alone, there isn’t a bottle he hasn’t tried in the Wine Cellar which rests beneath the hotel.

Twin Farms | Barnard, VT

Tucked away in the heart of Vermont, Twin Farms offers guests unparalleled luxury – and the wine experience is no exception. The all-inclusive Relais & Châteaux property houses an impressive 15,000 bottle wine cellar, with some of the rarest wines in the world on the property’s Reserve Wine List. The wine cellar is an impressive backdrop for an intimate private dining experience (for up to eight guests). Acclaimed Executive Chef Nathan Rich and Sommelier Keven Ring will create a fully customized and seasonal multi-course dining extravaganza in the heart of the cellar. Each course is coupled with wine pairings carefully selected by the sommelier, who will guide guests through each course and offer expert knowledge.

Inn at Dos Brisas | Washington, TX

This 9-room Relais & Châteaux resort sits on 313 acres in the southern foothills of the Texas Hill Country and boasts nationally-recognized wine program now lead by the acclaimed Level 3 Advanced Sommelier Charlie Berg — who just joined the property from Eleven Madison Park! For an elevated gastronomy experience, guests can privately dine in the 7,000 bottle wine cellar and enjoy a full tasting or a-la-carte menu, with wine pairings complimenting Chef Zachary Ladwig’s daily-changing menu fed by the property’s 42 acre USDA certified farm.
